WHAT ARE TREHAPAN® EYE DROPS?
Thanks to the unique combination of three active ingredients - sodium hyaluronate, trehalose and D-panthenol - TREHAPAN® eye drops provide intensive moisturisation of the eyes and support the regeneration of the protective barrier on the eye surface. TREHAPAN® provides long-lasting comfort, i.e. they need to be used less frequently.
WHAT ARE TREHAPAN® EYE DROPS USED FOR? 
TREHAPAN® eye drops are indicated for moderate to severe dryness of the eyes, provide intensive moisturisation of the eyes and support the regeneration of the protective barrier on the surface of the eye. They accelerate the regeneration of the surface structures of the eye after surgery.
WHEN SHOULD I USE TREHAPAN® EYE DROPS?
TREHAPAN® drops should be used in cases of discomfort accompanied by symptoms such as dry eyes, burning or fatigue: dry air in heated or air-conditioned rooms, prolonged use of screens, prolonged television viewing or cigarette smoke; mechanical irritation of the surface of the eye, for example contact lens wear; surgical procedures (including laser ones) that interfere with the processes of secretion and proper distribution of the tear film on the surface of the eye.
HOW DO THE ACTIVE INGREDIENTS OF TREHAPAN® EYE DROPS WORK?
Sodium hyaluronate: A polysaccharide that occurs naturally in the human body, including the vitreous body of the eye, and is generally known as a highly moisturising substance. The mucoadhesive properties of hyaluronic acid allow better adhesion of the preparation to the surface of the eye, contributing to faster healing of the corneal epithelium, while its viscoelastic properties increase the stability of the tear film, which is washed out much more slowly during blinking.
Trehalose: It is a non-reducing disaccharide composed of glucose units, found naturally in many living organisms such as plants, insects, fungi and bacteria. It has been identified as an important component of survival under stress related to anhydrobiosis (almost complete dehydration). Due to its strong protective properties, trehalose has been used in ophthalmological preparations as a substance that prevents stress associated with dehydration of the ocular surface, which is a consequence of dry eye syndrome, among others.
D-panthenol: It is the alcohol analogue of pantothenic acid, also called pantothenate or vitamin B5, and is a water-soluble vitamin. Due to its hygroscopic properties and ability to retain moisture, topical application of D-panthenol can improve hydration, the effect of which is related to its ability to rebuild the protective barrier.
WHO ARE TREHAPAN® EYE DROPS FOR?
TREHAPAN® eye drops are intended for adults.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD TREHAPAN® EYE DROPS BE USED?
Since TREHAPAN® eye drops do not contain any preservatives, they can be used daily with all types of contact lenses. It is recommended to apply one drop into the conjunctival sac of the eye 3-4 times a day. You can apply more often if necessary.
HOW TO USE TREHAPAN® EYE DROPS?
TREHAPAN® eye drops are for external use only in the conjunctival sac of the eye.
WHEN ARE TREHAPAN® EYE DROPS CONTRAINDICATED?
- Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any of its components.
- Do not use if you are allergic to any of its ingredients.
WHAT DOES TREHAPAN® EYE DROPS CONTAIN?
Sodium hyaluronate 0.15%, trehalose 3%, D-panthenol 2%, sodium chloride, highly purified water.
HOW TO STORE TREHAPAN® EYE DROPS?
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
- Keep away from heat sources.
- Store in a dry place at a temperature of 5°C to 35°C.
- Do not use the product after the expiry date on the packaging.
- The shelf life of the product is 3 months after the first opening of the container.
- Treatment for 1 month following the recommended dose. Discard the bottle 3 months after first opening.
- Discard unused solution.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
- The preparation is intended for external use only.
- Do not use if the packaging is damaged.
- Never touch your eye or any other surface with the tip of the dropper, as this may contaminate the solution.
- If other ophthalmic solutions are used, wait at least 15 minutes before applying TREHAPAN® eye drops.
- The preparation should be applied last.
- The reusable medical device must be used by one patient.
Reporting of medical events or adverse reactions: If you experience any side effects, inform your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.
